Approximately 85% of the drug binds to plasma proteins, and it can cross the placenta and be excreted into breast milk.

3.1. Epilepsy

For adults:

• Initial dose: 1mg per day (reduced to 0.5mg for elderly patients), divided into three doses. Maximum initial dose is 1.5mg/day.
• Dosage may be increased by 0.5-1mg every three days until seizure control is achieved.
• Maintenance dose: 4-8mg/day, divided into three doses.
• Maximum allowable dose: 20mg/day.
